Saltwater Church funds a village bank in the Congo!

20 to 56 years

4 months

Typical repayment rate:
about 95%

Proceeds from Saltwater UU Fair Trade Craft Saleshave funded a second village bank.

The Saint Benoit Village Bank is located in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire).

Thanks to the generosity of Saltwater Church, Saint Benoit Village Bank will make loans to the poor of Lemba, DRC, so that they can start or improve small businesses. The first borrowers (mostly women) have used their loans for businesses in food, spices, clothing, firewood, jewelry, and palm oil.

These loans will help the poorest of the poor help themselves escape from poverty.
