Job Description for Newcomer’s Table

Arrive 30 minutes before service, place 2-3 yellow visitor cards from middle desk drawer out on desk, place temporary nametags out also.  As newcomers arrive at desk, ask them to fill out a visitor card and make them a nametag.  Ask them if they are new to UUism or just Saltwater.  Give them papers accordingly.  New to UUism (Saltwater scroll, “We Are Unitarian Universalists” brochure, Questions about Saltwater, Saltwater Groups & Activities, Chalice Circle handout, small card with UU principles)  If just new to Saltwater give all the same items except for the We Are UU’s and the small card with principles.  Mention to them the printed sermons on the brochure rack.  Invite them to have some refreshments etc.  When service begins place visitor cards in box #4 by the office.
