The
congregation of Saltwater UU Church dedicated the site of the
labyrinth in the summer of 2004. The labyrinth itself will join
retaining walls, plaques, and flower beds to complete the
Memorial Garden of our church.
The labyrinth
will lie on the open lawn between the church and the passing
road. Framed by trees and two retaining walls, the garden will
provide a place both connected to its surroundings and gently
set apart from them. The
labyrinth, the church, and the surrounding woods will combine to
create a quiet place of peace. The church grounds are contiguous
with Saltwater State Park and the beaches of Puget Sound.
